abstract A benzophenone derivative, comprising at least one and at most three ethyl substituents on a hydroxyphenyl ring or an alkyl- or phenylcarbonyloxyphenyl ring of benzophenone, is prepared by reacting, under Friedel-Crafts acylation conditions, an acid of formula A-COOH or a functional derivative of the latter with a compound HAr or else an acid of formula Ar-COOH or a functional derivative of the latter with a compound HA in which A represents a hydroxyphenyl ring or an alkyl- or phenylcarbonyloxyphenyl ring substituted by one to three ethyl groups. The compounds thus obtained can be used as an active substance of antiallergic medicaments.
