Phenoxypropylamine derivatives of the accompanying formula I, in which R denotes hydrogen or alkyl, R1 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl or the two together represent a divalent hydrocarbon radical having 4-7 C atoms in the main chain, it being possible to replace one or two of these C atoms by oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen, R2 denotes hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, R3 denotes a branched alkyl radical, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl or cyanoalkyl, X denotes oxygen or the group =NOR4 and R4 denotes hydrogen, lower alkyl or aralkyl, where R2 is only H if X does not denote oxygen, and their pharmaceutically tolerable salts are prepared by reaction of carbonic acid or thiocarbonic acid derivatives of the accompanying formula II, in which Y denotes alkoxy, aryloxy, aralkyloxy, alkylthio, arylthio or aralkylthio, with amines of the formula <IMAGE> . The compounds have a blocking action on beta -receptors. <IMAGE> |
