abstract A device for dispersing, at a predetermined rate, a vaporisable substance by diffusion of the vapour across a stagnant gas layer. The device comprises at least one long conduit (2) designed for a vaporisable substance (8), of predetermined cross-sectional surface area and length, which is closed at one end and which consists of a material chosen from polyesters, polyolefins, acrylic polymers and polyamides. The stagnant gas layer covers the vaporisable substance in the conduit. The device is suitable for the release, at controlled rate, of vapours such as insect attractants, insecticides and other vapours such as flower perfumes. <IMAGE>
