abstract Substituted alpha -aminooxycarboxylic acid hydrazide derivatives of the general formula I <IMAGE> are obtained by reaction of the corresponding acid or acid ester with hydrazine derivatives. In the formula, X denotes a cycloalkylidene radical or an alkoxycarbonyl-substituted azacycloalkylidene radical having 5-6 carbon atoms or a methylene radical which may be substituted by one or more alkyl radicals having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and/or a phenyl radical which is optionally substituted by 1 or more halogens or nitro groups or a furyl radical which is optionally substituted by a nitro group, R denotes hydrogen, a benzyl radical or an alkyl radical having 1 to 5 carbon atoms which is optionally substituted by a methylthio radical and Z denotes hydrogen or an acyl radical derived from a pyridinecarboxylic acid. The substances are tuberculostatic agents. The compounds which are substituted in the hydrazide group by isonicotinoyl or 5-nitrofurfurylidene are particularly active.
