abstract | Novel 5-amino-7-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,4-diazepines of the formula I <IMAGE> in which either R1 is H, alkyl or amino and R2 is H or alkyl or R1 and R2 together with N form, inter alia, a pyrrolidine or piperidine ring, and R3, R4 and R5 are H, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, or two adjacent substituents form a methylenedioxy group, are prepared by reacting corresponding compounds of the formula II <IMAGE> in which R' is primary or secondary alkyl, with amines of the formula HNR1R2 The compounds are active against obesity and have an antidiabetic effect. |
