The dyes are prepared by diazotisation of a 2-aminobenzothiazole of formula I where R<1> denotes a hydrogen or halogen atom or a methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, nitro, acetyl, carbomethoxy, carboethoxy, cyano or thiacyanato group and coupling of the diazonium salt formed with a coupler consisting of an aniline, a tetrahydroquinoline or a benzomorpholine. These disperse dyes are generally suitable for dyeing textiles made of synthetic fibres and printing textiles using heat offset. The dyes give shades ranging from brilliant scarlet to violet and have good colouring properties, for example good resistance to light and to aqueous treatments. <IMAGE> |
