titleOfInvention Photosensitive sheet materials
abstract Photosensitive materials are claimed in which at least the superficial part of one face of the sheet contains di(diiodo-2, 3-oxypropyl)-2, 3-propyl cellulose (I).The (I) can be utilised e.g. in the form of fibres, transparent films, etc. to make photosensitive recording sheets which on imagewise exposure to electromagnetic radiation undergo photochemical reaction to produce a visible image of free iodine in the exposed parts. The image can be 'developed' with suitable dyes to increase the contrast and e.g. to give a positive or negative copy. The reaction may also be utilised in the prodn. of electrostatographic copying sheets which are developed conventionally with a toner powder.
