titleOfInvention Control of nutrient substrate addn. in single cell protein prodn.
abstract Control of addition of nutrient substrate in the prodn. of single cell protein by aerobic culture comprises regulating the rate of addn. depending on the partial pressure of O2 in the substrate or exhaust air. The amt. of O2 is pref. measured with an O2 electrode. The optimum O2 value for the substrate is known and can be increased or decreased as necessary if the O2 content in the exhaust air is measured, then it increases with decreasing productivity.
