abstract | Sweetener compsns. contains or consists of (1) 1 pt. wt. dihydrochalcone sweetener, (I), pref. nephesperidine dihydrochalcone, (Ia) naringine dihydrochacone (Ib) or hesperetin dihydrochalcone glucoside (Ic) and (2) 2-30 pts. wt. glucono - gamma-lactone (II) gluconic acid (IIa) or a non-toxic salt thereof. Compsn. is used for sweetening solid and liq. foods and food supplements, including milk prodts. beverages, fruit juices, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, confectionery, pastry, chewing gum, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, e.g. mouth-washes. Addn. of (II) or (IIa) pref. (II) inhibits undesirable delay of sweeteners activity to an extent such that sweetening effect sets in at the same time as that of saccharose. |
