titleOfInvention Iron and steel surfaces protection - by recrystallisation on coating with gels contg. phosphate and potassium ion donors
abstract Iron and steel surfaces are protected by chemical bonding of their metal ions. This is achieved by recrystallising the surfaces, through direct, film-forming coating with phosphate- and K ion-contg. cpds., to K-Fe-(III)-phosphate epitactically growing with one another and with surfaces. Coating gel pref. contains H3PO4, metal salts of metaboric acid and K-donors. Recrystallisation protects surface against corrosion and mechanical damage. Steel surface hardens can be increased from 170 kp/mm2 to 475 kp/mm2. Epitactic new formations are non-brittle and are formed in several phases, first being dendritic, followed by pore-free phases.
