Chlorinated organic cpds prodn - using reaction of cpds in tower with countercurrently flowing chlorine |
abstract |
Cpds. (opt. partially chlorinated) are reacted at their b.pts. plus-or-minus 25 degrees C using Cl2 in a tower where the products are evacuated at the base and the Cl2 flows countercurrently and runs out the top. Esp. 2-6C chlorinated hydrocarbons are produced. Yield is high with fewer by-products of higher chlorination degree. |
