titleOfInvention | Soluble disazo dyes contg sulphonic gps - for use in colour photography multi-layer emulsions |
abstract | The dyes are of formula: (in which A is H, opt. substd. alkyl, cycloalkyl or opt. substd. phenyl, B is a gp. D is halogen or opt. substd. 1-8C alkyl, alkoxy, alkylmercapto or acylamino, and M is -CO-, -CS-, or an amide with an at least dibasic acyl gp. attached to both -NH- gps. The acyl gp. is derived from an opt. substd. diphaic dicarboxylic acid, an aromatic, at least dibasic acid contG. sulpho- or carboxy gps., a heterocyclic dicarboxylic acid or a n-heterocyclic cpd. contg. OH gps. of acid character. X is H, sulpho or sulphonamido, and Y is sulpho or sulphonamido). The dyes give red shades and are suitable for use in gelatine photographic emulsions for colour materials esp. those using bleach processes. They do not react with light-sensitive materials or affect their sensitivity, have very high light fastness, excellent bleachability and good resistance to diffusion. |
