abstract The pyrazoline cpds. are of formula (I) (where X1 = -SO2-, -CO-O-, or -SO2-NH-, Y1 = O, -S(R9)p-1, -COO-O-, or -CO-N(R9)-, A1 and A2 = 1-3C alkylene, R1 = opt. subst. alkyl, R2 = lower opt. substd. alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, R3 and R4 =H or halogen, lower alkyl, or alkoxy, R5 = H, opt. substd. lower alkyl, or opt. substd. phenyl residue, R6, R7 and R8 = H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, opt. substd. aryl, CN or carboxylic acid gps., opt. substd. carboxylic acid amide, carboxylic acid ester, a sulphonamide or sulphonic acid ester gp. or acylamino gp., R9 = H or lower opt. substd. alkyl, m, n and p = 1 or 2 and q is the number of R1 residues, anion- is one equivalent of a colourless anion if m = 2, Y1 = -CO-(N(R9)-, R2 and R9 may together by a 1-3C alkylene bridge, and if X1 = SO2, A = ethylene and if m = 1, n = 2).
