titleOfInvention | 1-polyfluoroalkyl-benzodiazepines and prepn |
abstract | 1-Polyfluoroalkyl-benzodiazepines. New cpds. (I) and their N-oxides useful as anti-anxiety, anticonvulsive sedative, hypnotic, and muscle relaxing agents (wher e R is polyfluoroalkyl; X is Hal, CF3 or NO2; Y is H, Hal, CF3, NO2, OH, 1-6 C alkyl or -alkoxy) are prepd. by standard methods for forming benzodiazepines viz, ring closure, introduction of X = Hal from X = H or NH2, isomerisation of 4,5-dihydro cpd., conversion of a tetrahydrobenzodiazepine to a 2,3-dihydro cpd. and substn. of the 5-position. 4-X-N(R)-anilines are also converted to the intermediates N-(4-X-phenyl)-ethylene diamines by reaction with ethyleneimine then the diamines are acylated with a Y.C6H4COOH deriv. |
