Acid-addn. salts of (I) are includes. Prepn. is by reacting a cpd. (II): (where R2 is not OH) or its metal derivs. with a cpd. (III): (hal = Br or I) which is dissolved in an ether and react-with (II) in inert solvent at 20-100 degrees C. Cpds. (I) are central depressants, e.g., anticonvulsants and antiaggressive aggnts. They also inhibit somatic reflexes.
