abstract | The carbinol bases, which can be sublimed, are derived from cationic dyes of formula (I): (where A, B and D are each aryl or heteroaryl radicals and B may also be H; or A and B together may form the remaining members of a heterocyclic system; X is alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl; E is a direct bond or N-Alkyl; L is methine opt. substd. by alkyl, CN, or alkoxy-carbonyl or L is N atom; n is 0 or 1). (I) are known or may be prepd. in known manner, and are derived from dyes of the di- and tri-aryl methane, indolyl aryl methane, cyanine, azacyanine and benz-pefrane series. Yellow, blue, red and green shades are obtd. |
