abstract | (A) Alkanolamine derivs. of general formula (I): R1 = H or alkyl opt. substd. by one or more hydroxy, alkoxy, aryl and/or aryloxy (the aryl and aryloxy groups may themselves be substd. with one or more halogen, alkyl and/or alkoxy groups); cycloalkyl or alkenyl; R2 = acyl such as those derived from carboxylic- or sulphonic acids; R3 = alkyl (pref. max C10); R4 and R5 are same or different H or alkyl (max C4). (B) Esters, aldehyde-condensation products and acid addition salts of (I). (C) Unspecified 4-acylamino-2-alkylphenols and 2-alkyl-4-aminophenols (new intermediate products). (I) Are beta-adrenergic blocking agents and may be used in the treatment of heart diseases such as angina pectoris, cardial arrhythmia as well as hypertension and phaeochromocytomie in man. |
