abstract | Cellulosic material is impregnated with an aqs. dye-bath contg. a) at least one dyestuff of formulae:- (I) or (II):- (where D is the radical of an azo or anthraquinone dyestuff; x is a no. 1-4; R is H or lower alkyl; E is >=N, CH or C- N(XOH)2; Z is 2-5C alkylene; n is a no. 1 or 2; N is SO3H or COOH; D' is a chromophore radical of a formazone, azomethine or nitrodyestuff, pref. of an azo anthraquinone or phthalocyanine dyestuff; A is a bonding gp; X is hydroxylalkyl or cycloalkyl contg. at least one OH gp; m and n' are whole nos. 1-4); b) a synthetic resin-forming intermediate product; c) an acid catalyst and d) opt. other additives. The impregnated fabric is then exposed to steam or to a cold atmosphere, then treated at elevated temps, and opt. washed. |
