abstract | Fungicidal malononitrile oxime derivs. The new cpds. are of formula (I): in which X is O or S, R1 is OR2, SR3, NR4R5, 1-10C alkyl, 2-10C alkenyl or alkynyl, or 3-10C cycloalkyl; R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H, 1-10C alkyl, 2-10C alkenyl or alkynyl, or 3-10C cycloalkyl opt. substd. by halogen, CN, NO2, SCN, perhaloalkyl or 1-4C alkoxy or thioalkyl. The products are used to control pathogenic fungi e.g. Pythium and Fusarium, on crop plants. They may be prepared by reacting (NC)2C=NOH with AgNO3 to give (NC)2C=NOAg, and reacting this with ClCXR1 in an aprotic solvent. |
