abstract Polymeric derivs of beta-diethylaminoethyl p-aminobenzoate (II) with celluloseglycolic acid (III), of formula (I) (sic): C6H7O2(OH)3 to x(OCH2-CO-OH.N(Et)2CH2CH2O-CO NH2)x n (where x is a degree of substitution of 75-100; n is a degree of polymerisation of 30-120) are prepd. by reacting (II) with (III) in an aqs. medium, pref. in equimolar amts. at 45-50 degrees C (I) have local anaesthetic activity.
