titleOfInvention PORTABLE COOLING OR HEATING APPLIANCE BY CHEMICAL REACTION.
abstract Incompatible materials are contained in an appts. sepd. by a third which forms a buffer layer between them. The appts. is activated by addn. of a suitable agent which initiates the reaction producing the desired heat flow . If the reacting layers are (NH2)2CO and a mixt. of NH4SO3NH2, sepd. by an NH4Cl layer and water is the activating liq., a cooling effect results, with temps. in the region of -15.6 degrees C.
