abstract | PVC adduct comprises (1) producing PVC particles by suspension polymerisn. of vinyl chloride monomer in the presence of an emulsifier (2) removal of unreacted monomer, (3) addn. of a chain transfer agent and a soln. (a) of a acrylate ester monomer comprising 80-100 wt. % methyl methacrylate and 20-0 wt. % other monomers, and (b) an effective amt. of at least 1 free radical catalyst initiator which is sol. in the monomer (a). (4) The mixture is polymerised with agitation and the polyacrylate modified PVC particles are recovered. |
