titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of a new polypeptide amide |
abstract | Title peptide amide of formula H-Cys-Ser-Asn-Leu-Ser-Thr-Cys-Met-Leu-Gly-Lys-Leu-Ser-Gln-Asp-Leu- -His-Lys-Leu-Gln-Thr-Phe-Pro-Arg-Thr-Asn-Thr-Gly-Val-Gly-Ala-Pro-- NH2 (I) is prepd. by connecting with each other the requisite amino acids with the formation of CONH bonds (free functional gps. not participating in the reaction being temporarily protected by suitable protecting gps.), oxidizing the mercapto gps. to the disulphide at any pt. after the formation of the aminoacid sequence 1-7 and before the incorporation of a partial sequence contg. a methionyl gp. and converting the carboxyl gp. of the terminal prolyl residue into the amide gp. The prod. may be converted into an acid addn. salt or into a heavy-metal complex. (I) is in dicated in all states where a lowering of plasma Ca or an effect on bone metabolism is required, e.g. in hypercalcemia due to a deficiency of endogenous thyrocalcitonin or in bone disorders due to increased catabolism or where increased Ca fixation is required (e.g. osteoporosis). |
