A pref. cpd. is 2-(6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-dibenzofuran-2-yloxy)-octanoic acid and its alkali(ne earth)metal salts. Cpds. lower lipid and cholesterol levels with only a slight tendency to hepatomegaly.
