titleOfInvention Method of dyeing wool
abstract The wool is impregnated at 15-60 degrees C with an aqs. compsn. of- (a) a watersol. reactive dye with at least one acylamino grp. derived from alpha, beta-unsatd. aliph. acid or formed by acid abstraction (pref. acryl-amino with alpha or beta halogen or 1- and/or 2-propionyl halide); (b) urea or thiourea; (c) sulphuric- or phosphoric esters or salts (pref. Na, K, NH4) or addition products of 2-10 mols of ethylene oxide on 1 mole of 7-12C alkyl phenol, and the wet material is then stored at 15-40 degrees C for 5-60 hours (usually 10-48 hrs) excluding air, to prevent drying out. Method is more economic and gives even dyeings with good light- and wet-fastness; the lower temperatures used are less likely to damage the fibres.
