titleOfInvention | Process for the production of plastic structures containing urethane groups |
abstract | Polyurethanes are prepared by reacting (a) liquid polyesters containing two hydroxyl groups prepared from (1) a glycol component consisting of a mixture of 60-90% wt. C2-8 non-branched diol having terminal OH-groups, the C atoms being optionally replaced by other atoms, and 10-40% wt. branched or non-branched secondary C3-7 diols, and (2) a dicarboxylic acid component consisting of glutaric acid or trimethyladipic acid, or of a mixture of two C2-9 dicarboxylic acids, the C atoms of the latter acids being optionally replaceable by hetero atoms; and (b) compds. containing more than one isocyanate group. Other compds. may also be present in the reaction mixture. The polyurethanes are useful in the manufacture of shaped articles, laminated materials, tubing. surface coatings and adhesives. The polyurethanes have superior low temp. properties. |
