Title cpds. have formula:- where R is C is not >6 alkyl, R1 is Cl-10 alkyl or C5-7 cycloalkyl, X is O or S, and Z1 and Z2 are H, halogen with atomic number up to 35, C is not >2 alkyly or C is not >2 alkoxy groups. The esters are diuretics and saluretics, with a high therapeutic index. They are used in the treatment of oedema and high blood pressure caused by defective excretion of electrolytes, esp. NaCl. |
