abstract | Title cpds. of formula (I):- (where R is lower aliphatic hydrocarbyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl, Ph is (opt. subst.) phenyl and A is (opt. subst.) 2-pyrrolidinyl) and their acid addition salts are prepd. by (a) reducing the double bond of a cpd. A' = CPh-COOR (where A' is a divalent residue corr. to A) or of a tautomer thereof in which the double bond is in the heterocyclic ring, (b) in a cpd. of the formula A-CHX-Ph (where X is a group convertible into COOR, e.g. COOH or a reactively modified carboxyl group), converting X into COOR, or (c) in a cpd. corresponding to (I) in which the N-atom of residue A carries a residue removable by reduction, removing this residue. |
