titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of new nebularin derivatives
abstract Cmpds. - (I) Z = (4-8C) alkylidene, (5-8C) cycloalkylidene, or (7-10C) aralkylidene in which the aryl residue is opt. substd. by one or more halogen, NO2, NH2, OCH2O, lower alkyl, lower Oalkyl, Salkyl, NHalkyl, Nalkyl2, or (1-4C) NH acyl. - Stimulation of blood circulation. - Standard methods, e.g. - (a) - (b) - X = a reductively labile residue, e.g. hal, SH, S-alkyl, S-CH2Ph. - 6-Chloro-2',3'-O-(4-methylbenzylidene) nebularin (4.8g) in MeOH (350 ml) and H2O (50 ml) was hydrog. over Raney Ni (5.0g) and MgO (0.7g). 1.08 mol H2 were absorbed in 4 hrs. The mixture was filtered, the residue washed (MeOH), the filtrate evapd. in vac., decolourised, and recryst. from MeOH, giving I (1.2g), m.p. 127-9 deg.
