Mixtures of fluorinated linear polyethers have the formula (I):- CF3-O-(C3F6O)P-CF2-O)Q-(C(CH3)F-O)R-(O)S-A (I) where C3F6 represents a perfluoro-alkylene unit produced by the opening of the double bond of a hexafluoropropylene molecule; the perfluoroalkylene units are statistically distributed along the polyether chain; A is COF, CF2COF, or CF(CF3)COF; P, Q, R and S are numbers which are optionally the same, the sum of P, Q and R is 1-100; the ratio (Q+R) to P is 0-2, pref. 0-1; and the ratio S:P is pref. 0-1, pref. 0-0.5. The products with a high content of peroxide groups can be used as crosslinking agents for elastomers. Non-peroxide ethers are useful as functional fluids. |
