titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of asymmetric bis-triazinylamino-stilbenes |
abstract | The stilbenes have formula:- in which one X = H and the other = Cl in the 2-, 3- or 4-position, Y = methylamino, dimethylamino, beta-hydroxyethylamino, N-methyl-N-beta-hydroxyethylamino or morpholino radical and Z = a cation forming atom or gp. . They are prepared in 2 ways:- (I) by reacting cyanuric chloride/bromide, in any desired order, with (a) 4,4'-diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulphonic acid or salt (b) methylamine, dimethylamine, -hydroxyethylamine, N-methyl-N-hydroxyethylamine or morpholine, (c) aminobenzene and (d) chloroaminobenzene, using, per mol. (a), 2 mols. cyanuric halide, 2 mols. (b) and 2 mols. of a mixture of (c) and (d) pref. in molar proportion 1:1; and (II) by reacting, in a 1st. reaction sequence, 1 mol. cyanuric halide in any desired order with 1 mol. (a), 1 mol. (b) and 1 mol. (c) or (d). The NO2 gp. in the resulting product is reduced and, in a 2nd. reaction sequence, 1 mol. cyanuric halide is reacted, in any desired order, with 1 mol. of the resulting amino cpd. 1 mol. (b) and 1 mol. (c) or (d), (d) being used in the 2nd. reaction sequence when (c) is used in the 1st. and vice versa. |
