Process for generating oxygen and ozone by electrolysis of water and an electrolysis cell for carrying out this process |
abstract |
A process for producing oxygen and ozone by electrolysis of water, esp. water containing common salt, using an electrolytic cell, operates by subjecting the catholyte, produced at the cathode of the primary electrolytic breakdown cell, to a secondary electrolytic breakdown producing oxygen and ozone. Pref. an additional anode chamber follows the cathode chamber of the primary cell. |
