R3SnOOCR' (wherein R is alkyl or phenyl; and R' is polymerisable group from vinyl, alpha-methyl vinyl and vinylphenyl). Pref. cpds. are those where R is propyl, butyl or phenyl. The process may be used to protect marine surfaces against fouling by treating with a composition contng. 1-30% of the polymer.
