abstract | A composition for treating paper, etc., contains (a) 100 pts. by wt. of a diorganopolysiloxane, which is soluble in organic solvents and which contains at least 2 hydroxyl groups bonded to silicon, (b) 1-25 pts. of a liquid polysiloxane with at least 3 hydrogen atoms bonded to Si per molecule and at least 3 different Si atoms to which a hydrogen atom is bonded, (c) 2-20 pts. by wt. of an organotin compound, which is soluble in organic solvents, and (d) 0.2-15 pts. of an amine with a basic dissociation constant in aqueous soln. of at least 10-9. Partic. used for coating paper and films, of polyalkylenes, polyesters or polyvinyl (idene) chloride. The compositions have increased pot-life, and harden rapidly. |
