abstract | Azo dyes which are prepared by coupling a diazonium compound of a mono- or bi-cyclic amine DNH2 with a coupling component (I) The product can be quaternised if D contains a quaternisable nitrogen atom. R is H, aryl, alkoxy, or particularly alkyl, R1 is H or an organic residue, particularly alkyl or alkoxy, OH, or a residue with the formula -OCOR'. -OCO-O-R', -O-CONHR' or -O-SO2R' where R' is a (cyclo) aliphatic, araliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic residue, R2 is H or a hydrocarbon residue, preferably CH3, and D a (quaternised) residue of a diazo component. For dyeing and pigmenting synthetic fibres, such as acrylonitrile (co)polymers, polyurethanes, polyalkenes, cellulose tri- and 2 1/2-acetate, polyamides and polyesters. |
