abstract | (I) Mono- and bis-quaternary ammonium cpds. of conessine derivs. of formula: (I) where R1, R2 and R5 = 1-5 c alkyl, R3 and R4 = H, H or alpha H,betaOH or alphaOH, betaH or oxo double bond may be present in 5,6 or 4,5 and 6,7 positions. with the exception of bismetho-cpds. of conessine. (II) Acid addn. salts of the monoquaternary cpds. Muscle relaxants. 3beta-Dimethylamino-11alpha-hydroxy-DELTA5-conenine (1.5 g.) and EtI (15 ml.) in acetonitrile (15 ml.) heated for 12 hrs.; cooled; crystalline product washed with acetonitrile; dried at 45 deg.C under red. pressure 3beta-dimethylamino-11alpha-hydroxy-DELTA5-conenine bisethiodide (2.2 g.). |
