abstract | Compounds of formula (I) their salts and quaternary ammonium derivatives are useful in the treatment of coronary insufficiency, myocardial infarct, myocardial insufficiency, angina pectoris and other heart or circulatory disorders and also migraine and arteriosclerosis. (where R2 and R3 = H, CH3O or NO2; Y = phenyl or a condensed ring aromatic group, one or more of the rings being partially or completely saturated; R4 = H, CH3 or C2H5; R5 and R6 = H or CH3; R7 = H or OH; R8 = OH or alkyl (2-6 C); R9 = H, OH or alkyl (2-6 C) one of R8 and R9 may also represent CH, when the other is OH, and R1 = -o-Alk-OH Alk alkylene of 1-6 C, opt. substd. by OH; R10 and R11 H or alkyl opt. unsatd.) or R10 and R11 opt. with the group Alk form a 5, 6 or 7 membered ring, opt. substd. by an alkyl, acyl, benzyl, oxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, acyloxyalkyl, ester or amide group, and opt. contg. another heteroatom e.g. O, S or N). |
