The present invention relates to a coating composition being a basecoat or a clearcoat composition and comprising at least one polymer as film-forming binder (A), nanoparticles (B) containing at least one noble metal and/or at least one alloy and/or oxide thereof, wherein the noble metal is in each case independently selected from the group consisting of Au, Ag, Cu, Pd, Ru, Rh, Re, Ir, Os and Pt as well as mixtures thereof, wherein these nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in the range of from 20 nm to <500 nm and are present in the coating composition in an amount in the range of from 0.01 wt.-% to 10.0 wt.-%, based on the total solids content of the composition, as well as water and/or at least one organic solvent as component (C) being present in the coating composition in an amount of at least 30 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the composition, a coating film and a coating obtainable from the coating composition, a method of forming a coating film and a coating at least partially onto at least one surface of a substrate, and an at least partially coated substrate obtainable by the inventive method. |
