A dentifrice composition comprises: (a) 30% to 55%, by weight of the composition, of water; (b) 25% to 50%, by weight of the composition, of a calcium-containing abrasive; (c) 1% to 25% a bicarbonate salt; (d) 0.0025% to 2%, by weight of the composition, of a fluoride ion source; wherein the dentifrice composition is free of a humectant selected from the group consisting of sorbitol, glycerol, and a combination thereof; and wherein said composition has a pH greater than 7.8. |
