abstract |
An expression vector comprising a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence is provided. The nucleotide sequence is (a) the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 14 or SEQ ID NO: 15; (b) a nucleotide sequence that encodes a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 16; or (c) a nucleotide sequence that is at least 90% identical to the nucleotide sequences of (a) or (b), and encodes a transcription factor that negatively regulates nicotine biosynthesis. The nucleic acid molecule is operably linked to one or more heterologous control sequences suitable for directing expression in a Nicotiana cell. |
