abstract | The invention relates to a process for preparing a carbonaceous composite material which comprises at least the following steps: a) A mixture comprising at least carbonaceous raw materials, a solvent and lignin is prepared. b) The mixture obtained at the end of step a) is gelled until a paste of carbonaceous composite material is obtained. c) The paste of carbonaceous composite material obtained at the end of step b) is shaped so as to give it a desired shape. The carbonaceous composite material is intended to be used for the manufacture of carbon blocks used as electrodes in aluminum electrolysis cells or in steelworks furnaces, or more generally as refractory products. |
