Methods and uses for diagnosing and treating rhabdoid tumors such as Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumors are provided. In particular, the present disclosure provides methods of identifying and treating subgroups of rhabdoid tumors. In one embodiment, an inhibitor that targets Notch signaling or targets an epigenetic regulator selected from a BET domain protein, G9a or EZH2, is used for treating a subject with a Group 1 type rhabdoid tumor. In another embodiment, an inhibitor that targets BMP or PDGFR.beta. signaling is used for treating a subject with a Group 2 type rhabdoid tumor. |
