abstract Procedures relating to the isolation of diamondoids avoiding the use of a number excessive handling which would result in particular in a low yield of recovery. It is proposed to isolate diamondoids from a mixture of organic compounds by liquid chromatographic separation of a fraction isoalkanes and cycloalkanes from the mixture of organic compounds; the introduction of the fraction into a column comprising a phase stationary comprising a material capable of forming inclusion complexes with diamondoids, said material being b-cyclodextrin; elution by an eluent being a mixture of n-C3-C8 alkane and C1-C4 alkanol, and this mixture having a ratio in alkane / alkanol volume ranging from 90/10 to 99.5 / 0.5; and collecting fractions eluted.
