abstract | The disclosure relates to closure for a product-retaining container constructed for being inserted and securely retained in a portal forming neck of said container, said closure comprising at least a) a core member (22) comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer; and b) at least one peripheral layer (24) at least partially surrounding and intimately bonded to at least one surface of the core member, said peripheral layer comprising at least one styrene block copolymer; wherein the core member has a density in the range of from about 100 kg/m3 to 350 kg/m3 and the peripheral layer has a density in the range of from greater than 350 kg/m3 to about 1,500 kg/m3 and a thickness in the range of from 0.15 mm to less than 0.50 mm. The disclosure further relates to a preparation method for preparing the closures, and to a use of the closures for sealing closed a container. |
