Aqueous coating composition with improved stability |
abstract |
An aqueous coating composition with improved stability is disclosed. The coating composition comprises a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles having structural units of an ethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer; from 5% to 50% by dry weight based on the total weight of the coating composition, at least one pigment, wherein from 30% to 100% of the pigment, based on the total weight of the pigment, is encapsulated by a polymer as polymer-encapsulated pigment particles; and from 2% to 25% by dry weight based on the total weight of the coating composition, at least one colloidal silica. |
