abstract A method of producing an artificial stone slab having enhanced properties due to the fact that it is gap-free and air-free is disclosed. The method comprises producing lumps of composite stone material by using a mixer; dusting the lumps; placing the dusted lumps into a container; spreading the lumps substantially uniformly in the container; allowing the lumps to settle completely in contact with one another, and not only with a binder material or a filler material; performing stabilization of the lumps, to avoid losing the form of the lumps during transition of the lumps to a subsequent unit; compacting the lumps by vacuum and vibration process; removing all air in between the lumps such that among said lumps exists only air-free non-agglomerated slab material; curing the container of lumps; cutting and polishing the cured material to result in an air-free formed artificial stone slab.
