titleOfInvention | Optical isolator |
abstract | The purpose of the present invention is to provide a small-sized optical isolator that is suitable for use in a semiconductor laser used for applications such as medical treatment and optical measurement. This optical isolator for a wavelength band of 320-633 nm is characterized in being provided with a Faraday rotator having a Verdet constant of at least 0.70 min/(Oecm) at a wavelength of 405 nm; and a first hollow magnet disposed on the external periphery of the Faraday rotator, and second and third hollow magnet units disposed along the optical axis on opposite sides of the first hollow magnet, the second and third hollow magnet units comprising two or more magnets equally divided and oriented 90 degrees from the optical axis, the magnetic flux density B (Oe) applied to the Faraday rotor being within the range of formula (1), and the sample length L (cm) in which the Faraday rotator is disposed being within the range of formula (2). (1): 0.8×104 = B = 1.5×104; (2): 0.25 = L = 0.45 |
