The present invention relates to a doped lithium titanium spinel with formula I Li4-yK' yTi5-zK"zO12-xAx (I), wherein A is on or more anions selected from the group is consisting I, N, Br, C1, F, K', K" are each one or more cations selected from the group consisting of Na, K, Cd, Se, Te, S, Sb, As, P, Pb, Bi, Hg, Si, C and 0 < x, y, z < 0.4.
