abstract | A system for reducing a recoil force transmitted upon firing of a firearm. The system includes a first stock portion having a first proximal end coupled to a receiver of the firearm and a first distal end having a distal contact surface, a second stock portion having a second proximal end with a proximal contact surface and a second distal end having a rear contact surface, and a resilient insert positioned between the distal contact surface and the proximal contact surface which is compressible by the relative motion between the first and second stock portions. The gun stock further includes a guide structure extending between the first stock portion and the second stock portion to control the relative motion between the first and second stock portions in response to the recoil force transmitted upon firing of the firearm. |
