| abstract | The present invention relates to systems and methods for balancing a trade margin against a target customer value in order to satisfy a purchase request of a plurality of items. An initial sale price for a purchase request of the items is calculated, the initial sale price being based on a sum of retail prices for the items discounted equal to a target customer value predetermined. An initial markup for the query is determined, the initial markup being based on the sum of the retail prices for the items minus a sum of predetermined net prices for the items. The initial sale price is adjusted to create an intermediate sale price, in response to the initial trade margin being outside a range defined by a lower trade margin threshold and an upper trade margin threshold, the price intermediate sale price being compared to the initial sale price to create a final sale price. |
